A Contra Dance for All

  • Camp Friendship 339 8th Street Brooklyn, NY, 11215 United States (map)

Friends! We’ll see you for a dance with some of NYC’s very best musicians, Some Assembly Required and calling from Qwilleran Duvall!

Tickets Available Here!

The Some Assembly Required Trio brings the energy of NYC's best musicians to the Brooklyn Contra stage. Headlined by Matthew Christian's Irish fiddling, you never know who'll show up, from folks fresh of the Broadway or Grand Ol Opry stage to a harmonious cello or a trombone playing mandolin picker.

This week Matthew Christian's signature busker's fiddle sound is joined by the driving cello of Brendan Hearn and jazz club percussion of Jerome Morris. Plus we'll have our very own horn section with two saxophonists, and a bevy of Brooklyn's best up and coming players as part of our open band!

Calling since 2019 In their home dance community of Chicago, touring nationally since 2023, Qwill brings an upbeat, playful energy to every dance. With clear, relaxed teaching and an eye for the skill level in the room, they keep dancers engaged — whether with creative choreography, unusual figures, or simply a well-chosen, satisfying dance. Expect a fun, inclusive atmosphere where beginners feel supported, experienced dancers stay intrigued, and everyone leaves smiling.
