Join us for our eigth annual New Years Eve dance as we swing into the New Year! We’ll dance to live music from Stomp Rocket and calling from nationally renowned caller Will Mentor!
Stomp Rocket is a New England based trio that delivers high energy foot-stomping dance music for Contra dancing! The band consists of fiddler extraordinaire Dave Langford, DADGAD guitar monster and pianist Bethany Waickman, and tenor banjo and mandolin wild man Glen Loper. They’ve played for Contras throughout New England, and at dance weekends from Alaska to Tennessee and Quebec to Florida.
Will Mentor is a contra and square dance caller from Northern Vermont known for his clear teaching, upbeat wit, and relaxed stage presence. He has been calling dances and teaching new dancers for over 20 years
Brooklyn Contra will provide bubbly beverages for a toast 🥂 (alcoholic and non) as we dance from 8:30 pm into the new year in our lovely hall in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
